Introduction

So following a recent move from Los Angeles back to Taiwan for the time being, I am to start teaching in September. This year marks the year that many of my students will be entering a new phase of their lives, just as I am entering mine i.e. this nerve-wrecking thing called post-grad life. Selina will be starting middle school, and Vivian will be starting high school, which is all very exciting except for the fact that I started teaching them when they were Grade 3 and 5 respectively. Basically, my kiddies are all grown up (and I am all grown old). How am I supposed to deal with this? Strugz.

This also means I will be making my annual dip back into the sciences, in particular chem and physics. Suffice it for me to admit, the closest I've gotten to chemistry in college was Breaking Bad. We know that hydrofluoric acid melts pretty much everything (bathtubs included) except for plastic. We also know that methamphetamine is bad for you, and Br stands for bromine and Ba stands for barium.

As for physics, it looks as if I will be borrowing my knowledge from my latest and greatest obsession Doctor Who and the Time And Relative Dimension In Space. Whovians know what I'm talking about. But to be more specific, the approach of my first class shall be:

On a more serious note, and this is starting to read like the "About" page of this blog, this also marks the first time that I am going to be blogging about teaching. I am both curious and excited to see how this whole thing will pan out.

More to come...
